"With new listings outpacing sales increases to start the year, it appears the market is heading towards more balance" says REBGV president Brian Naphatli. The benchmark price of an apartment property has increased 1308% from Jan 2007. There is clearly a trend over the past decade towards growth in the high density condo market.
This is a great city to live in!
Although we are having lower sales then 2006 and 2007, we are seeing continued strength in the market with properties holding their values. Sales periods are lengthening. The continuing rate drops will will be a plus for co-ops. The forecast is for increased prices.
